With recent gruesome murder of Shraddha Walker that horrified the nation’s capital Delhi by alleged Aaftab Poonawala who confessed his crimes during interrogation and in front of court.

Such crimes do not occur again hence activists and vigilant residents of Gurugram who are affiliated with many non profits gathered together on 21st November 2022 to perform peace Yaag (Havan) proceeded by candle march on the eve of 21st November. A huge candle march was organized till Kabir Bhawan, Shiv Murti, Gurugram.

There was also a demand to run the case in a fast track court. The women present in the march demanded amendment in the Women’s Safety Act.

The candle march organized under the leadership of Bodhraj Sikri, Pradhan, Punjabi Biradari Mahagathbandhan was attended by many eminent personalities of Punjabi society like Surendra Bhullar, Pradhan, Central Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Ashok Arya, Pradhan, Arya Kendriya Sabha, Gurugram, Dharmendra Bajaj, Laxman Pahuja, Ramesh Kamra, Pramod Saluja, Bharat Ratna Mehta, besides many dignitaries, Mahendra Kumar Luthra, President, National Punjabi Mahasabha, Gurugram was present in the candle march along with many of his colleagues.

In the press conference, the dignitaries demanded the Government of India to hang Shraddha’s murderer as soon as possible and to keep some strict provisions in the Indian law.

Gurugram’s Punjabi as a community who are known to be one of the front line protector’s protecting the citizens in history of mughal and british era’s with many other societies involved to name a few as (1), Arya Samaj, Gurugram (2) Punjabi Biradari Maha gath bandhan (3) Sanatan Dharam Sabha Gurugram (4) Rashtriya Punjabi Mahasabha . Yaag (Havan) was conducted at chowk of Sector 7 Gurugram at 5pm. Candle March ends at Kabir Bhawan, Shiv Murti, Gurugram.
